Jennifer Makumbi wins Commonwealth Prize

Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi has won the Commonwealth short story prize for a piece praised by judges for its “risk-taking, grace and breadth”. Jennifer is a Ugandan who recently completed her PhD in Creative Writing at Lancaster University.
