 * MISSION STATEMENT  *
Crossing Borders promoted cross-cultural developmental dialogue between emergent African writers working in English and experienced UK-based mentors. This was facilitated through dedicated online information technology facilities, which will open up shared creative and cultural space. Our emphasis was be on building a new international community of writers, on new work for a new world.

Welcome to the Crossing Borders archive. This site stores the original websites from the Crossing Borders UK/Africa mentoring project (2001-1006), the Beyond Borders literature festival (2005), and the Radiophonics project that took place in Uganda and Nigeria (2006-2009).

On this site you will find information about all the projects, academic papers written about them, image galleries, 12 issues of Crossing Borders magazine, the Writers on Writing gallery, educational resources and sound files of the Radiophonics broadcast series. We will also added some new material to the site as it becomes available.
