Writing for Liberty Events Series
Writing for Liberty is our well-established Trans-Scriptions events series and is funded by Lancaster Friends Fund. It brings writers who have written in the cause of social inclusion and political liberty to Lancaster, engaging them in reading, performance and debate with live audiences. The events are when possible recorded for our website.
The series is generating a multi-media journal within our website: visit Writing for Liberty online.
The first ‘Writing for Liberty’ conference was held 17-18 April 2015, hosted by the Centre for Transcultural Writing and Research at Lancaster University. The Keynote speaker was Véronique Tadjo, University of the Witwatersrand.
Our second conference will be held at the University of Western Cape, South Africa, on 27th-29th March 2017. Our Call for Papers is now available in the Writing for Liberty Journal.
